Duties and Responsibilities:
 As established by the Constitution of Virginia, the Treasurer is directly responsible to the citizens of the locality for the receipt and collection of revenue, the safekeeping of revenue, and the appropriate accounting for and disbursements of revenue. The Treasurer is responsible for the collection of the Government funds under the Code of Virginia. The Treasurer is first and foremost a servant of the citizens of the locality. The Town Treasurer serves a two-year term at the will of the Council.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 The Department of Public Works is responsible for the repair and maintenence of Town streets, public parks and other properties, sanitary sewers and the collection of yard waste (grass clippings, brush, leaves, etc.).
