The Town of Chatham supports a volunteer fire department. This department is supported by the Town with vehicles and equipment. Town residents typically experience fast emergency response times and excellent service from a very professional, highly trained group of volunteers.
The department is always seeking new volunteers, and it will offer training and experience for those interested in supporting their community with this critical service. Please contact Chief Bobby Higgins or one of the department's officers to learn more about how you can help.
As a volunteer organization, the department engages in fundraising to support various needs, especially in training and equipment purchases.
Contact the department during regular business hours to address non-emergency questions or concerns.
If you have a water or sewer emergency after the normal business hours of Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, please call Pittsylvania County Dispatch at 434-432-7931.
