The Town of Chatham Planning Commission plays a crucial role in shaping the development and growth of a community through six key roles:

Advisory Role: They act as an advisory body to the Town Council, providing recommendations on planning and development issues
Comprehensive Planning: They prepare and promote a comprehensive plan that outlines the long-term vision for the Town, including goals related to economic development, housing, transportation, and infrastructure
Reviewing Development Applications: They review development proposals to ensure they align with the Town's general plan and zoning regulations

Planning Commission Meetings are held each quarter at 6:30 p.m. in the Chatham Fire Department's lower meeting room.
